Featured Project – Ti Tree Food Barn Solar Installation

Ti Tree Food Barn partnered with experienced remote electrical contractors in the NT to deliver a high-performance off-grid solar solution designed for the harsh conditions of Central Australia. Located in a remote area north of Alice Springs, the project focused on reducing energy costs, improving reliability, and creating a more sustainable long-term power solution for the business.

The project included the design and installation of a 32.76kW solar PV system combined with a 45kWh lithium battery storage system, helping the site achieve up to 96% daytime energy usage from solar power alone. The system was carefully designed to suit the demands of a busy commercial operation in a remote location where dependable power is essential.

As part of the project, detailed energy audits were completed to better understand the site’s power usage, peak demand times, and opportunities to improve efficiency. This allowed the system to be tailored specifically to the business, maximising performance while reducing ongoing operational costs.

The installation is a strong example of how remote solar in the NT can provide practical, cost-effective energy solutions for regional businesses. By incorporating advanced battery storage in Central Australia, the site is now better protected during outages and less reliant on expensive traditional power sources.

This project highlights the growing demand for standalone power systems in the NT and demonstrates how commercial solar in Alice Springs and surrounding remote communities can deliver reliable power, lower electricity costs, and long-term energy independence.
